Lavish Bath Box March 2018 | UnBoxing

I promise I am trying to get back to a normal posting schedule as life is starting to normalize again.

As I have moved, I finally have a bath tub again. To celebrate, I subscribed to the Lavish Bath Box!

Lavish bath box is around $30 a month and you get 5-7 bath items, and they seem to all be from indie brands!

You’re the Bomb Confetti Pop Cait + Co

This bomb is scented with coconut water and kiwi. Perfect for this new summer weather!

Apparently you just fill the tub back then push this like a push pop into the water.

Cupcake Frosting Whipped Soap Leebrick

This is a fluffy butter cream frosting scented whipped soap.

It’s purple and smells JUST LIKE frosting! I can’t wait to use this stuff.

Flirty Bubble Bar Zeep

This bubble bar is scented with apple, lily, bergamot, citrus, and amber.

It smells amazing. I hope it makes a ton of cute pink bubbles.

Third Times the Charm Bathbomb Luxury

Wellness

To celebrate Lavish’s third birthday we got a hot pink and gold glitter covered bath bomb. It is scented with sparkling champagne, crystal peonies, and almond creme on a base of amber, sandalwood, and musk.

Let me tell you, it smells amazing. I am really excited to use this bomb and see what it does to my bath water.

Birthday Cake Epsom Soak Feeling Smitten

An epsom soak sounds so relaxing after the long day I’ve had.

This soak is a mixture of Dead Sea salt, epsom salt, coconut oil and scented with sweet vanilla cake.

Lavish x Ambrosia Hand Soap Ambrosia Soap Co.

The last product is hand soap, which we can never have enough of in our house.

This foaming hand soap smells like lemons and gives your hands a really nice clean. I have been using it in the kitchen.

Over all, I am really happy that I subscribed to this box and can not wait to see what next month brings!

The Organic Skin Co. | Review and a Look

For such a small blog, I receive quite a few PR samples. But, I only share the ones that I think deserve more attention. The Organic Skin Co is a company that I believe definitely deserves all the attention.

The beauty products are cruelty free and vegan, and with each product purchased a tree is planted. That isn’t each order, that’s each PRODUCT!

The products are also all natural!

This post will be long. So, let’s get into the products and my honest thoughts.

4 pan palette $28 Blush

The palette it’s self is extremely sturdy. It is made of a hard plastic, has a magnetic closure, and contains a nice mirror. For an empty palette, $28 is steep. With all of the options out there, I would not say this in particular is a must have. However, if you can spring it, I 100% recommend it!

The palette also comes in charcoal and stone. There is also an 8 pan option.

Check out the 4 pan palette Here.

The Pods

We are going to go in order from left to right.

The Eyes Have It Pod “Day Dreamer” $21

Cream shadow wasn’t my thing, until now. The formula is long wearing, easy to apply, and blended really nicely.

The shade I have “Day Dreamer” is the perfect one and done shade. There are also 9 other options to pick from.

“Day Dreamer” also makes a fantastic cream bronzer/contour.

If you enjoy cream shadows, or don’t I mean I didn’t, and enjoy easy and quick application, with a lasting formula… give the Eyes have it pods a try.

You can look at all the colors Here!

In the Spotlight Pod “Lunar” $21

If there was one product I could have skipped, it would be this one. It is still great quality and makes a great inner corner highlight. But, as a face highlighter it isn’t for me. I like that in your face highlight.

If you like a natural ethereal glow though, this highlight is amazing. It did not make my foundation patchy and it applies well with a finger or a sponge. It blended out effortlessly.

You can check out both shades Right here.

Hide and Seek Pod “Porcelain” $21

I did not go into this thinking I was going to find my new favorite concealer. I assumed this was going to be light coverage and hard to work with.

I was WRONG!

The Hide and Seek concealer covered blemishes, dark circles and scaring like a dream. Blends out well with a finger, sponge, or brush. Once the weather warms up here in Missouri I may just wear this concealer and go with out foundation!

I do have to say… the shade range leaves much to be desired. There are 8 shades, most of which are a shade of beige.

You can view all 8 shades Here.

Cheeky Lips Pod “First Blush” $21

This Pod is for your lips and cheeks.

Personal preference, I prefer a matte lip, but for quick easy days I always go glossy. Now, I don’t think I need any of my other glossy lip shades!

As a lip color the pigment is great! The formula is comfy and relatively long wearing. It will not last through food or drink. And no, it is not kiss proof. ( Sorry Coty 😂)

As a blush? I am in love! If used lightly it gives your cheeks that wind flushed look. Just like the other products, it blends out easily and lasts ages.

There are 7 shades that you can view Here.

Meet the Press Eye Shadow “Nutmeg” $31

Nutmeg is a matte cool dark brown. It isn’t unique to my collection, but what is anymore? The pigment is fantastic! The texture is buttery and it blended in like 3 seconds!!

There are 10 shades Here, and I really want more.

  • For my eyes I placed “Day Dreamer” all over my lids and blended it out with “Nutmeg”, then I took “Nutmeg” on my Lower lash line.
  • Lastly for my eyes I popped “Lunar” in my inner corner.
  • I applied “Day Dreamer” in the spots that I would bronze and contour.
  • I applied “First Blush” a little further back than the apples of my cheeks.
  • I applied “Lunar” on my Cupid’s bow, nose, brow bone, and cheek bones
  • I placed “First Blush” all over my lips.

That’s it! A quick and easy clean look!

I will never say you absolutely need something, because that just isn’t true. But, I will say I will pick up more of both shadows and repurchase the concealer and lip/cheek product when mine run out.

Personally, I am happy to pay a higher price if it is going to an ethical company that has the well being of our environment in mind.

Ipsy January 2019| First impressions!

With it being the beginning of the new year, I feel that I am hold my Subscriptions to higher standards. I am hoping the quality of them this month will set the standard for their quality for the rest of 2019.

Let’s get into Ipsy and see what kind of year it is going to be.

Ipsy is $10 a month. You receive 5 deluxe sample-full sized beauty products or makeup. It is supposed to be geared to your likes, based on their quiz.

The bag itself

The bag is cute, reminds me of spring. It is not something I will use though, passing it on to a friend. That is no big deal tough.

So Susan Dream Maker Light Shifting Highlighting Cream “POP Star”

I have wanted to play with cream products more, so I was pleased to receive this high light.

1st Impression: Blinding! Blends out best with your fingers or a beauty blender.

Illamasqua Coloring Pencil “Honour”

This is the first Illamasqua product I have ever tried! I am actually really excited about this, which is silly because it is just a brown eye liner.

1st impression: The product is creamy and lasted a long time in my water line. I think this is my new go to liner!

Hola Neon Velvet Liquid Lipstick “DF”

I have never heard of this brand. But, it was nice to receive a full sized liquid lip. I do love trying new to me brands.

1st Impression: The color is really pretty. It last quite a while, then I decided to drink some water. Then it came off patchy. So, don’t expected it to last through drinking or eating. But, what does last through it?

Akar Mini Care Lip Butter

I feel like I have heard of this brand before. Anyway, I have been in the market for a product to repair my winter worn lips.

1st Impression: The lip butter is super creamy. My lips actually felt really nice the rest of the day. I can see myself going through this rather quickly.

Jeju:en Sheet Masks

I will be honest, when I read the names I actually laughed out loud. I’m so mature.

I haven’t tried these masks yet, but I am anxious to see how well they work. Keep yours eyes out for an empties post, they may be in there with a mini review!

Ipsy Add Ons.

I took the opportunity this month to purchase two add ons. I really enjoy this new program!

Luxie Small Contour Brush added on for $3

I have said it a million times. I LOVE Luxie brushes.

1st Impression: I used the Wet n’ Wild contour duo and it blended out seamlessly extremely quickly. Great brush from Luxie as always.

Tarte Double Duty Beaty Make Every Moment Count Cheek Palette added on for $12

What a steal!!

I love Tarte blushes, so I jumped on this as soon as I saw it.

1st Impression: I used the shade “Love”. Must I say more besides Tarte Blush? They have my favorite blush formula. Love this palette, I am so glad I added it to my bag!

Here are all the products that I tried on my face! Please ignore my too bold brows.

Over all?

I am super happy with this bag! I am really looking forward to what Ipsy has to bring for 2019.

Ipsy December 2018

I am finally getting this up!

I am always super busy at the end of the year. With Christmas, New Years, and my Birthday all in a two week period I don’t get much time to get stuff done.

Let’s jump into this while I do have a second.

The bag it’s self is really nice. I like it a lot and think I may start using it as my makeup bag.

Farrah Blending Brush And Luxie Precision Blender

I have never tried a Farrah brush before, but it seems sturdy and soft. Luxie brushes are my favorite, I am always happy to receive one.

Creme Sheet Masks let it Go, Peppermint Cocoa, Oh Deer!

I have never tried sheet masks from this brand before. I am excited to give them a go. The packaging is so cute!

Pacifica Liquid Mineral Strobe “Unicorn”

I don’t like these. I have received a couple and have given them all away.

This one is going away too.

Steve Laurent Pigment “Antique Olive”

I like pigments, but this packaging is unnecessarily bulky. It took forever for me to get the top screwed back on.

The shade is really pretty. I may depot some into one of those clamshell containers and pass the rest in the packaging on.

Ciate London Glitter Flip “Infamous”

I have wanted to try these, literally just to watch it “flip”. Other than that. Eh.

The shade is pretty. I’m going to give it a try before I make a decision.

Over all, I think this is the most disappointing Ipsy bag I have gotten. Not a great way to end the year, Ipsy.

What was in your Ipsy bag?

Thank you for reading and Happy New Year!

Glamour Ghoul Box | Limited Edition Beetle Juice Makeup Box

Glamour Ghoul Box is so cool. I buy their boxes every now and then. They are all themed, spooky themes, and cruelty free indie products. All of my favorite things!

I ordered this so long ago that I don’t remember the cost- the boxes sell out fast. The prices on the boxes seem to vary.

But, let’s get down to business and see what’s in side.

Apocalyptic Beauty Setting Spray for the Recently Deceased

Isn’t this the coolest setting spray you have ever seen!? I cannot wait to give it a try.

Apocalyptic Beauty Bio-Exorcism Pigment

I don’t think I have a lime green pigment! This one is really pretty.

This is going to make for the great focus point of an eye look.

Necromancy Cosmetics Mood Lipsticks “Mood Orange”

This is one of those heat activated color changing lipsticks. I never really saw the point of these. I get that it is cool seeing the color change, but after that, they all look pink.

Here it is changing to pink. I might use this, I might pass it on. We will see.

Flora and Aurora Infinity Lipcolor “Tea”

First and foremost, 10% of the company proceeds go to the ASPCA, which is fantastic.

The product itself looks like a pretty color and the formula feels really nice and hydrating.

I think I will get a lot of uses out of this lip color.

MGC Pigment “It’s Showtime “

I am pretty positive that this is a highlight, but there is no info card or info on the container.

It is pretty though. Peachy. I will put it on my eyes and face. I like it. Very pigmented. Definitely a POW kind of glow.

MGC Pigment “Moonlight Rendezvous”

This one is definitely a shadow.

It is a nice sparkly gray. I think I have a Pigment that looks like this. If I do I may pass one of them a long.

Have any of y’all heard of the brand MGC?

That is it for the box!

I am going to keep buying these every now and then. It’s a fun way to support indie brands.

Would you like to see any of these products reviewed?

Thank you for reading 🖤

Ace Beautē Grandiose Palette

I have been so MIA lately. I have had no motivation. The Holidays are draining and I don’t particularly enjoy them.

But. I do have a review for you! Of a palette that arrived in last months Boxy Charm.

The Ace Beautē Grandiose Palette $24.99

I was really excited when I received this palette. It is a brand I have wanted to try and I mean, look at it….

It’s beautiful! So warm and pretty! A nice mix of mattes and metallics. All in shades I want all over my skin.

Row One

  • Jasmine- metallic light gold (white gold?)
  • Clove- the perfect matte peach
  • Myrtle- metallic copper
  • Cinnamon- warm matte brown

Row Two

  • Patchouli- a matte yellow-cream
  • Rose- a metallic pinky red
  • Poppy-a matte purple-pink. I know there is a name for this kind of shade, but it has currently escaped me.
  • Prime-rose – metallic gold

There are 4 mattes and 4 metallic/shimmer shades. All are very pigmented and buttery.

The Look

  • I set my primer with Patchouli. I also used this shade to buff rough edges out.
  • I then used Clove as my transition. And pretty far under my lower lash line. I just put it everywhere.
  • I defined my crease with Cinnamon.
  • I used Poppy to define my outer V and places it close to my lower las line.
  • I then places Rose all over my lid.
  • I placed Primerose on the center for a bit more pop.
  • For my inner corner and brow bone highlight I used Jasmine.

Over all thoughts

I really love the formula, but the packaging isn’t the best, one of my pans just fell out.

But that is an easy fix.

If I could buy this in a store I probably wouldn’t mind the price tag. But to be honest, I don’t trust online shopping and knowing one of my pans fell out of a lightly used palette- it makes me worry.

I would love to try more from the brand, but I can get the same look with ColourPop shades- and their small palettes are like $12 and just as nice.

Have you tried Ace Beatuē? What pallets should I get from them if I try another?

Thank you for reading!

Ipsy November 2018 | New Bonus Add Ons!

Ipsy had something exciting this month, which will hold me over until I can get on the Glam Bag Plus waitlist.

They had bonus add one ranging from $3-$9. I believe you were only allowed 3. Luckily the 3 I chose were are $3 each and they were a great bargain!

I got the Lottie London Blush Crush in the shade “Zac”. It is just a pan. I am throwing this in with my best friends Christmas/Birthday gift, it will look really pretty on her skin tone. BTW, both of our birthdays are really close to Christmas, so we just combine them.

I also go the Juno & Co Microfiber sponge that has been all over the inter webs. It usually retails for like $6, so I got it half off!

Lastly, I got the Tarte Blush in Quirky. I love Tarte blushes, so I am happy to add another for only $3.

The bag.

This month the bag is navy blue with black hearts and gold accents. I may uses this one to gift a part of a gift. It is more their style than mine. It does seem to be nice quality though.

Timeless Beauty Bar sheet Masks “Glam and Glow” and “Up in the clouds”

I am always happy to try new cruelty free sheet masks. I am going to save Glam and Glow for a night out like the packet suggests. I do not fly enough for up in the clouds to be saved with out going bad.

Lottie London Blush Crush Zayn

Lottie London is not a brand that I have ever seen in stores, but I have heard some of their products raves about by beauty influencers in other countries.

The blush is a really pretty shade. Very pigmented! I am excited to give it a try.

(Please ignore my nails. It is almost time for a fill in.)

Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lip “Trusty Rusty”

This is such a tiny sample! It has to be like three wears. This is my first product from sugar, and to be honest, I don’t think I have really heard of them before.

I do have to say, the shade is very pretty.

MAC Strobe Cream

I know for sure MAC is not cruelty free. Not sure about Lottie London.

This product is also getting thrown in with Wethonia’s gift. It is apparently in the shade “Pinklite”

I will be honest I am not sure what strobe cream is meant to do. Is it a high light or a primer or either?

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmic Light Pigment “Pulsar”

This is a giant size for a pigment. It is going to last me ages!

A nice icy blue. Perfect for a halo or spotlight eye!

All in all, I have to say I am very happy with my bag and I hope that Ipsy keeps up this add on program! I am super excited to try most of what I got. Much worth the $10 for the bag and the $9 for the add ons.

What was in your Ipsy bag? Dis you purchase any add ons?
