Blinc Electric Eye Palette | Review and Look

This five pan metallic eyeshadow palette came in a BoxyCharm a few months back. It had gotten tucked away in my collection, and I am just getting around to using it!

I considered not reviewing it, because I thought it was exclusive to BC, and it had been to long since that box was given to be relevant. Turns out you can purchase this Palette. It retails for $25 and it is cruelty free!

“An electric combination of jewel toned shadows.”

Besides the beautiful ruby shade, I would not really consider these shades jewel toned. I would say they are very metallic and pigmented. They have an unusual texture, almost wet, which makes the shades apply very vibrant. I recommend patting them on. I used the flat shadow brush from ColourPop with them.

  • Orpime
  • Rhodoni
  • Vanadini
  • Autuni
  • Sphene

What is with these names? I am hoping they are referring to types of jewels, or crystals or rocks and I am just not geologically inclined enough to know.

Aren’t these shades just drop dead perfect! Every single one is one swipe! I need more Blinc eyeshadows, because these are probably the best actually metallic shadows I have ever used.

The Look

  • I primed my eyes with the concealer I used and set it with my translucent setting powder
  • I pulled in the Urban Decay Ultimate Matte palette for my transition and blending shades.
  • I used that first shade, Orpime on my outer lid.
  • All over the rest of my lid I used the shade Vanadini.
  • For my inner corner I used the lightest shade, Sphene.

  • For my lower lash line I went with the beautiful shade, Rhodoni, for a pop of color. I want to use this all over my lid so bad.

Over all:

🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄 out of five Christmas trees!!! I want more of these palettes if they make them in different shades. Personally, I would spend $25 on this. The formula is THAT good! It makes me want to try more from the brand Blinc in general.

Pick up this bomb AF palette for yourself, Here.

Glamour Dolls x LISA FRANK | Collection and Review!

My elementary school obsession has fused with my adult obsession. LISA FRANK MAKEUP!

So far the Lisa Frank and Glamour Dolls collection contains a Blush Brush, a eye crease brush, a Matte Bronzer, and a gold shimmer shadow.

First, can we just address how cute this packaging is? I can’t handle it! I will definitely be keeping the boxes and products themselves on display!

The Brushes $4.99 Each

The brush’s feel soft and sturdy. But, I am going to be real with y’all as usual. I am NEVER using these. They are just to special. It makes me think of my childhood, and I really can’t bare to mess them up.😂

Bitten and Bronzed Matte Bronzer $4.99

I am so glad that the bronzer in this collection is Matte. I am more likely to use it this way.

This bronzer is very pigmented! It isn’t too warm, so I found that I can easily use it to contour. I also enjoy it on the eyes!

This is the best inexpensive bronzer I have ever used. I mean, even the Butter Bronzer is a little pricey considering it comes from a drugstore brand. I hope they keep this formula and shade in their line.

Stargazing Shimmer Shadow $6.99

So far this is the only shadow in their collection. It is the most expensive piece in the collection, and I would say it is too much for a single shadow if it was for the Lisa Frank name and designs being attached to it.

The shade is very pigmented and creamy to the touch. It makes a beautiful lid shade and, when using a fan brush, makes a nice highlighter. It isn’t necessarily a unique shade, I probably have 10000 of the same shade. But, it is in collaboration with Lisa Frank, so I am okay with that. It does its job and well.

The Look

  • For my eyes I used the bronzer in my crease and on my lower lash line.
  • I applied the stargazing shadow all over my lid
  • To deepen up my crease I used a random deep brown.
  • I also used a random light shimmer shade for my inner corner.

  • I used the bronzer to warm my face up and contour.
  • I used the stargazing shadow to highlight!

Over all:

I am in love. It’s Lisa Frank…how could I not be!? The Brushes seem to be nice quality and are going to make an awesome collectors piece. The bronzer blew me out of the water and has become my favorite inexpensive bronzer. I do think the eyeshadow is over priced, their shadows are usually $2.99, but you do get a bit more with stargazing…and it’s Lisa Frank.

You can order it, Here. As of 12/12/17 the “Stargazing” shadow is sold out.

Have you tried the Lisa Frank collection yet? What are your thoughts, will you pick it up? Comment below!

New Wet N’ Wild Eyeshadows | Looks, comparisons, and review!

I firmly believe that you don’t have to spend your entire paycheck to get good Cruelty Free Makeup. A big reason I believe this is because of the brand Wet N Wild. Their eyeshadows have always been fantastic, their blushes are great, and their lipsticks are amazing. Like all brands they have their duds, but lately they have been blowing it out of the water. On top of that, the Wet N Wild brand is very inexpensive!

When I heard they were reformulating their eyeshadows and releasing new shades, I admittedly got a little too excited. I picked up all of the 10 pan palettes, 2 of the quads, and 3 of the singles. By the way, the prices haven’t changed!

This post a going to be very long, so bare with me, and let’s play with some eyeshadow!

Comparing the old and the new:

“Comfort Zone” $4.99

I am sure you have all heard of the “comfort zone” Palette. It’s a neutral green palette, that contained a few MAC dupes, more specifically I contains a dupe for what I believe is the shade blue green. (I THINK that is the name.)

In the new palette there are two matte shades added, the layout of the shades is different, the blue/green shade is sadly gone, and replaced with a metallic brown/gold.

The new packaging is much sturdier than the old packaging. Hopefully it will be much harder to break and the shadows won’t shatter with the slightest bump. I have had that happened to me a lot with the old formula, because it was so soft. I do want to point out that the price point did not change!

The old palette is the top row, and the new palette is the bottom. The new palette is not as powdery as the shadows in the old one are. They are also more pigmented, the shimmery and metallic shades feel and preform a lot like what typical “metallic” shadows do now. You can definitely tell there was a formula change. Two new shadows were added, making it 10 pan instead of 8. Really, the only way the new palette has disappointed me is by excluding that blue/green shade.

The new palette is on the left eye, the old is on the right. You can tell just by looking at the pictures that the new palette doesn’t clump up as much as the old one did. I think it was due to the excess powder, sense the formula was so soft. The new formula is so much easier to blend!

I stuck with the green side and did pull in other random mattes, since the old palette had no mattes.

Walking on Egg Shells $2.99

I’m

Another favorite of a lot of people is the, what was a trio now a quad, “Walking on Egg Shells”.

There is a new matte shadow added to the palette, other than that there is no shade change!!!

As before the old palette is on top, and the new is on bottom. So far the new formula is consistently more pigmented.

My left eye was done with the new palette, and my right was done with the old. Again, the new formula is much easier to blend!

Ignore my Blush please, I have no idea what I’m the world I did.

Single shades “Brûlée” and “Nutty” $.99

“Brûlée ” and “Nutty” are staple shades. The new “Brûlée ” is much more pigmented, I used it to set my eye Primer and it did a fantastic job at getting rid of the blue veins on my lids. The original “Brûlée ” never did this, it was just a nice way to set the Primer and blur out harsh lines.

The new “Nutty” has a bit more shimmer to it, but I can’t notice that big of a difference.

I also picked up one of the glitters in “Nudecomer”. I wanted to see if it was just a glitter spray over a clear gel. It is not! It is consistent glitter and pigment all the way threw! No, it isn’t as good as a high end glitter would be. But, it is a start…. and only $.99.

As before, the top is the old and the bottom is the new formula. That first shade is the glitter!

I am really impressed with the new formula!!

New palettes

Rosé in the Air $4.99

We are talking about the second palette in the top row.

Rosy and mauve shades are all the rage recently. Obviously Wet N Wild had to jump in on the action.

I really enjoy this Palette! It reminds me a ton of the ABH Modern Renaissance palette. But, it is only $4.99!!

If you have toyed with the idea of getting say the MR palette or the Violet Voss HG palette, but don’t want to shell out the cash for it, I would pick this palette up as soon as you see it!

Not a Basic Peach $4.99

We are now talking about they very first palette. The peach with a pop of blue!

This is the only palette that disappointed me. I love peach with blue, but it’s hard to find a Cruelty Free blue AT the drugstore. I was hoping this Palette would be here to save the day. However, the blue is really lacking in pigmentation. You can build it up and use a setting spray or something to Wet it and make it more vibrant. It is just strange that everything else is so pigmented, then we get this wimpy blue. *look to come *

Nude Awakening $4.99

Now we are talking about the first palette in the second row.

This Palette is cool toned with some pink and a maroon. This Palette is really pretty. Everything in it is constantly pigmented. A great neutral palette, with some essential mattes. If you are a beginner and want to pick up one of these to really get you started with eye shadow, this is the one I would go with. *look to come*

Hooked on Vinyl $2.99

The peach and teal mattes in this quad really caught my attention. For some reason this blues and greens with peach really make me feel some kind of way!

In person you can tell the darker shade is more teal. The mattes are very creamy and pigmented. And that gold. OMG the gold! Feels like a high end metallic when you swatch it. I can not want to use this quad on my eyes! *look to come*.

This collection doesn’t officially release in stores until January, but I was able to find the shadows at my local Walgreens! There is a ton of other products being release as well. Lipsticks, primers, cushion foundation, Wet N Wild is coming out with so much new stuff!

What do you think of the new Wet N Wild shadows? Comment below!

Lush Sleepy Body Lotion | A Bath and Body Care Review.

I have a problem. I am addicted to lotions and soaps. Most recently, I have been really getting into Lush.

For what I think is my first body care post, we are going to focus on Lush’s sleepy!

I am sure you can gather from the body lotions name, it is meant to aid you in sleep, and moisturize your body of course. If you have bad insomnia like I do, anything that offers to help aid in the sleeping experience sounds very inviting.

The sweet lavender and tonka perfume are meant to make you feel at ease, while the glycerin, cocoa butter, and almond oil moisturize your dry skin.

Ingredients:

Oatmeal Infusion (Avena sativa) (Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract) Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis) Lavender Water (Lavandula Angustifolia) (Lavandula Angustifolia Extract) Lavender Flower Infusion (Lavandula angustifolia) Organic Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis) Glycerine Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao) Stearic Acid (Stearic acid) Illipe Butter (Shorea stenoptera) Triethanolamine Lavender Oil (Lavandula angustifolia) Benzoin Resinoid (Styrax tonkinensis pierre) (Styrax Tonkinensis Resin Extract) Tonka Absolute (Dipteryx odorata) Ylang Ylang Oil (Cananga odorata) Cetearyl Alcohol *Benzyl Benzoate *Benzyl Cinnamate *Coumarin *Geraniol *Limonene *Linalool Fragrance Snowflake Lustre (Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Titanium Dioxide (Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Titanium Dioxide, Red 28, Blue 1, Iron Oxides, Tin Oxide) Red 28 Blue 1 *Occurs naturally in essential oils

*the ingredient listing is taken directly from the Lush USA website.*

This lotion is cruelty free, free of synthetic preservatives, and is also vegan. The tub it is in is made out of recycled plastic.

How I use it:

*Sorry if my font changed, it occurred when I added the ingredient list from the Lush site.*

Before I start relaxing in bed for the night I apply “Sleepy” all over my body. Making sure to get my chest, so I can really inhale the scent. Then I light a candle and get to relaxing.

A little tip, use the Lush body wash in “Twilight” during your night time shower, it has a very similar scent to the lotion.

What I think:

Sleeping is tough for me, and I wasn’t expecting this lotion to be a fix all. I don’t think it is helping me fall asleep, but it does help me to relax, which is pretty close!

Is this a product I will continue to purchase? I think it is! It smells amazing, is pretty clean, does its general job, and the product itself is purple!

You can purchase the “Sleepy” lotion, Here!

The 3.1oz, which is what I got, retails for $9.95.

I hope this short post was some how helpful! What Is your favorite thing to help you sleep?

Thank you for reading. 💜

Winky Lux Kitten Palette | Plum Look and Review

I am sure by now that y’all have seen the Winky Lux Kitten Palette. It was included in the November BoxyCharm and is now for sale on the Ulta website!

This adorable Palette retails for $25 and includes 9 shades in 4 finishes: holographic, Matte, Satin, and glitter.

The packaging says that the feel of the shadows are inspired by our feline friends.

Here’s my feline baby, Carl.

They are meant to be ultra soft and glide on like a dream.

This Palette is Cruelty Free, Gluten Free, and Paraben Free.

Before I get in to the rest of the review, I want to mention that the packaging is so F-ing cute. BUT, there is no mirror. Why!? A mirror in this Palette would have been the perfect size.

Here’s the inside. Mirrorless. But, still a pretty light pink. I’m not a big fan of pink, but I can’t get over how cute this Palette is. 😻

BTW, the shades are all labeled on the back of the Palette! I hate when shades aren’t named or numbered, it makes my life difficult.

  • Purr a “satin” light pink
  • Duchess a Matte Cream
  • Strut a warm toned, Matte light brown (perfect transition for this Palette)

  • Holographic a blue/brown DUOCHROME

a little pink is in it also.

  • 9 lives a glittery dark gray. This is the only shade I don’t really like, it just isn’t as creamy as the others.
  • Cateye a very pigmented, I suppose they consider this Satin, gold. (This will be featured in my next look using this palette.)

  • Romeo a glittery burgundy
  • Cheshire a Matte Plum or Maroon. I can’t decide which fits as a description better.
  • Boots a dark matte brown.

All of the shades are extremely pigmented. The texture is also fantastic, besides 9 Lives, in my opinion.

The look

  • I started off by priming my eyes with the Too Faced Shadow Insurance. Then I set it with Duchess. I also used this shade to blend harsh edges.
  • I then went in to my crease with Strut to act as my transition.
  • Then I started in my outer lid. I patted on the shade Romeo.
  • Then I went on to the rest of my lid using Holographic.
  • I know I don’t say it but always remember to blend!!!
  • Then to deepen my outer corner and crease I used the shade Cheshire.
  • On my lower lash line I used Cheshire, then blended that out with Strut, then got rid of the harsh with the shade Duchess.

Overall Thoughts

This Palette is extremely easy to use. It’s pigmented and very blendable. There is a wide variety of looks you can do using this Palette, and it definitely plays into current trends.

The only downside to me is the lack of a mirror and the shade 9 Lives.

😻😻😻😻 out of five lovey cats. I had to take away one point because of the two downsides.

I don’t think this is a Palette you NEED to pick up right this second, but it is nice and the packaging is definitely unique. It is just really similar to a lot of other palettes. I mean you only get 9 shades and I think omg of them is a dud. And there is no mirror, so that really does sway my opinion.

If you want to try the Kitten Palette yourself get it, HERE!

Help, I have the Flu! | Makeup to make you look alive.

When I get sick I turn into a walking dead extra over night. My skin loses any color, my fave breaks out, and my under eyes get dark and puffy. I mean, I look like a disaster.

See! If you’re anything like me, being sick doesn’t stop you from getting out. Even though it should!

I wanted to show you what I do, and the products I tend to reach for just to make me look human again. Keep in mind, we are NOT trying to look all glamed up and fully covered. Your skin needs to breath.

Prep

After I have cleansed and toned my face I start my prep. This doesn’t really change when I’m sick.

  • I use my favorite 100% Pure Coffee Bean eye cream. There is caffeine in this eye cream so it really helps to eliminate dark circles and bring down puffiness.
  • Then all over my face I use the Naked Aloe Cream. I got this in Ipsy and I love it. I am thinking of purchasing the full size. I also skip Primer when I use this, Aloe is supposed to be a good Primer.
  • Always moisturize your lips! I am trying to get through my last EOS balm. I do still like them, I just have so many balms.

Base Makeup

Before I do my foundation and concealer I do my brows. But, I didn’t include that in this post because I am going to do an updated brow routine.

  • Color correcting. I used the ELD peach color correcting stick under my eyes. Some how it was legit my only peach concealer. And I HATE it. It’s so dry. I guess while I am out I’ll grab a good one. But seriously. Under eye color correcting is an important step when you are sick.
  • For the rest of my face I used the Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint in light. This stuff is super light on the skin and helps to liven it up. I LOVE it.
  • To conceal my break outs I used the Glossier Stretch Concealer in light. This concealer has decent coverage, but is still light on the skin.

Face Color

  • I set my under eyes and Tzone with the Essence All About Matt! Powder.
  • For bronzer I used the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in Light. I love this bronzer, it adds just enough color to my skin.
  • I needed to hard core as some color to my cheeks. It was weird. So, I went with a pink pink blush. I used Heather Silk by Wet N Wild. Fun fact, this used to be the ONLY Blush I used, most of the way through high school. And then I discovered the Elf Blush/Bronzer in Fiji.
  • I wanted to just do a little bit of a natural glow to make my skin look healthier than it actually is right now. I highlighted with the Pacifica Sheer Golden Glow Highlight in Golden Lotus.

Eyes

For the eyes we are keeping it super simple. Like, skin tone simple. So adjust these products to fit your needs.

  • I primed my eyes with the concealer I used.
  • All over my lid I used the Han single shadow in Sunset.
  • In my crease I used the DLS shadow in Teaser.
  • I used a random white in my inner corner and to highlight my brow bone.
  • I tight lined my eyes with brown. My eyes are green, so this will bring out their color more.
  • I liner my water line with a nude liner. This makes the whites of the eyes look brighter. Beauty gurus shove this tip down everyone’s throat, so I am sure you all know that by now.
  • Apply mascara!

Super simple and natural eye look.

Lips

For you lips just got with a moisturizing your lips but better type shade. I used the Burt’s Bees lipstick in Blush Basin.

Finished look

There you go! We now no longer look like a walking dead extra! This is also a good easy natural day look, I think anyway.

Throw your hair in a ponytail, put on a hoodie and some leggings. Good to go to Apple Bee’s for $1 Long Island Iceteas with your friends. And then of course to the Walgreens and Ulta in the same shopping center.

I hope you found this post useful! Y’all, I need a pore filing primer. What is your favorite? Comment below!

Thank you for stopping by.💜
