BoxyCharm January 2019 |Boxy and Chill

It is time for the first subscription box cycle of the year. 2018 had a really good run, besides my December Ipsy. Let’s see if the boxes will live up to my expectations this year.

Let’s see what is inside my Boxy and Chill box. I think the popcorn on the card looks like faceless bunny heads. Weird.

Briogeo Don’t Despair, repair! Strength and moisture Leave in Mask 2OZ. $16

I have never not loved a Briogeo product. The winter makes my hair really dry and gross so this came at the perfect time. It smells so good too.

Tarte LE Rainforest of the Sea Vol 3 Highlighting EyeShadow Palette $36

I haven’t used many eyeshadows from Tarte, none of their palettes have really drawn me in. The packaging is always cute, but the shade selection never speaks to me.

There is a basic matte nude and 7 shimmers. All are really pigmented.

I would not have bought this my self. But, it is neat to get in a subscription. I can get a lot of highlighting/lid shade use from this palette. Cannot do much else with it.

Star Looks Luxe Long Wear Eye Pencil “Aurora” $19

I opened this and it was broke in the cap. What is left swatches as rough glitter.

Next ❌

Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Face Masks (2 Pack) $24

I have to be honest. This is what I’m most excited for. I have wanted to try more from Tatcha and you have to start some where! Lord knows my fluy, crusty skin could use some moisture.

Bite Beauty Lip Stick “Honey Comb” $26

This is a shade I have wanted. But, I can never use these lipsticks up before I think they are bad. They also never have this shade in sample sizes that I have seen.

This is the perfect nude for me. It is a formula I know I already love. I think this will be my new everyday lipstick!

Overall, I don’t hate this box. It isn’t my favorite though. I could do without the broken liner and would have preferred a different palette. But, I am really excited about the masks, hair product and lipstick.

I can’t want to see what 2019 holds for BoxyCharm!

December Beauty Empties

Better late than never right? Let’s just jump in.

Skincare

Mustus (?) Daily Harvest Squeeze Energy Up Mask Pack Vitality/Health

I think this either came in an Ipsy or an Ipsy offer. Didn’t break me out and made my skin nice and soft.

Repurchase? I would if I saw it again, but wouldn’t go out of my way for it. I think I have another though.

Pretty Animalz by Masque Bar Purifying Sheet Mask

This was cute. It made me look like a penguin. I actually got this in my Christmas stocking.

Repurchase? No! There is a warning on the back to not use on blemishes or pimples…

Callyssee Caffeine Rush Nourishing Sheet Mask

I liked this mask. It made my skin glow. Did not give me any energy though. Haha. I think this also came with Ipsy.

Repurchase? If it was on Ipsy offer, probably.

Younique Exfoliating Mask Sample

A girl I know, who did some really bad things to the company I manage, sells Younique. She gave me this sample. Didn’t do much on the single use, but what does?

Repurchase? No, it is pricey for what it is. I have a ton of other I enjoy.

Clinique Moisturizing Gel Sample

This was actually really nice. I slathered it on and slept in it and my skin felt so nice the next morning.

Repurchase? No, but I would like a Cruelty Free alternative if anyone has one!

Makeup

ELF Powder Brush

This was like $3 and lasted me ages. I recommend it!

Repurchase? No, ONLY because I have a ton of other powder brushes.

Wander Beauty Unleashed Mascara

This was a decent mascara. It came from a BoxyCharm. I have others I like more though.

Repurchase? No, but I wouldn’t be mad if another made its way to me.

Bobby Brown Eye Opening Mascara Deluxe Sample

This came in one of those Sephora Favorites kits. Let’s just say it was not what I used my coupon to get the full size of.

Repurchase? No, I hated this. Getting through it was a struggle. Did nothing for my lashes and my lashes aren’t that bad.

That is all that I used up in December 2018!

Do you know a Cruelty Free alternate to the Clinique moisturizer?

Ipsy December 2018

I am finally getting this up!

I am always super busy at the end of the year. With Christmas, New Years, and my Birthday all in a two week period I don’t get much time to get stuff done.

Let’s jump into this while I do have a second.

The bag it’s self is really nice. I like it a lot and think I may start using it as my makeup bag.

Farrah Blending Brush And Luxie Precision Blender

I have never tried a Farrah brush before, but it seems sturdy and soft. Luxie brushes are my favorite, I am always happy to receive one.

Creme Sheet Masks let it Go, Peppermint Cocoa, Oh Deer!

I have never tried sheet masks from this brand before. I am excited to give them a go. The packaging is so cute!

Pacifica Liquid Mineral Strobe “Unicorn”

I don’t like these. I have received a couple and have given them all away.

This one is going away too.

Steve Laurent Pigment “Antique Olive”

I like pigments, but this packaging is unnecessarily bulky. It took forever for me to get the top screwed back on.

The shade is really pretty. I may depot some into one of those clamshell containers and pass the rest in the packaging on.

Ciate London Glitter Flip “Infamous”

I have wanted to try these, literally just to watch it “flip”. Other than that. Eh.

The shade is pretty. I’m going to give it a try before I make a decision.

Over all, I think this is the most disappointing Ipsy bag I have gotten. Not a great way to end the year, Ipsy.

What was in your Ipsy bag?

Thank you for reading and Happy New Year!

BoxyLuxe December 2018

I just could not resist BoxyLuxe it is $50 a month and seems really cool. This months theme is “‘Tis the season”.

Let’s open her up!

Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream $89

I have heard a lot of good things about Elemis. It is never to early to start trying to prevent wrinkles. I am excited to try out this fancy fave cream.

Tarte Glitter Lip Paint $20 “Insta-Famous”

I am not excited about this. I am not in to straight shimmer on the lips. This formula feels very gunky. I am going to see if a friend wants it.

It’s pretty but not for my lips.

Violet Voss Pro HG Palette $45

If you have follows my blog at all you would know this is my all time favorite palette. Pictured open is mine.

I was still excited to receive this palette, I am putting with a friends Christmas gift, she has tried mine and loved it!

There it is on my eyes the other night when we went to Garden Glow at the Botanical Gardens in St.Louis.

Suva Beauty Protégé Palette $34

I have wanted to try Suva Beauty shadows for quite some time. When given the choice between this palette and the little PYT straightener, the choice was easy for me.

6 pretty shadows and two highlights/shadows.

A warm and pretty color palette.

Luxie Rose Gold Complete Face Brush Set $65

I love Luxie brushes, they are my favorite! I am so excited for these, I got this cheaper than sale price plus seven other products essentially! These alone make the box worth it for me.

Spongelle Bodywash infused buffer $20

I used to have one of these from a dog company for my dog. It was useful then so I figure the human version is nice as well. The scent I got is blossom bliss. Is smells fantastic! Reminds me of spring.

Grande Cosmetics Grande Mascara $25

I am never mad to try a new mascara. I have actually made a dent in my mascara collection. This lovely gold tub is very welcome to live in my eye product drawer.

Pretty Vulagr The powder room translucent setting powder. “Matte about it.” $32

I guess pretty vulgar and body charm are a thing now because this is the 5th product we have gotten in a box and I haven’t seen them in Sephora in ages. This did come at a nice time, as I am almost out of my Ofra setting powder.

Crimes of Beauty Wristlet and Portable Charger $22

The wristlet is super cute. This is going to be my new going out bag. It seems to be nicely made. The portable charger will come in handy for when Coty and I go to Pokémon Go Community days.

This box was fantastic! I am very glad that I signed up! I can’t want for next quarter to get another one.

Would you guys like to see a make collection post?

Glamour Ghoul Box | Limited Edition Beetle Juice Makeup Box

Glamour Ghoul Box is so cool. I buy their boxes every now and then. They are all themed, spooky themes, and cruelty free indie products. All of my favorite things!

I ordered this so long ago that I don’t remember the cost- the boxes sell out fast. The prices on the boxes seem to vary.

But, let’s get down to business and see what’s in side.

Apocalyptic Beauty Setting Spray for the Recently Deceased

Isn’t this the coolest setting spray you have ever seen!? I cannot wait to give it a try.

Apocalyptic Beauty Bio-Exorcism Pigment

I don’t think I have a lime green pigment! This one is really pretty.

This is going to make for the great focus point of an eye look.

Necromancy Cosmetics Mood Lipsticks “Mood Orange”

This is one of those heat activated color changing lipsticks. I never really saw the point of these. I get that it is cool seeing the color change, but after that, they all look pink.

Here it is changing to pink. I might use this, I might pass it on. We will see.

Flora and Aurora Infinity Lipcolor “Tea”

First and foremost, 10% of the company proceeds go to the ASPCA, which is fantastic.

The product itself looks like a pretty color and the formula feels really nice and hydrating.

I think I will get a lot of uses out of this lip color.

MGC Pigment “It’s Showtime “

I am pretty positive that this is a highlight, but there is no info card or info on the container.

It is pretty though. Peachy. I will put it on my eyes and face. I like it. Very pigmented. Definitely a POW kind of glow.

MGC Pigment “Moonlight Rendezvous”

This one is definitely a shadow.

It is a nice sparkly gray. I think I have a Pigment that looks like this. If I do I may pass one of them a long.

Have any of y’all heard of the brand MGC?

That is it for the box!

I am going to keep buying these every now and then. It’s a fun way to support indie brands.

Would you like to see any of these products reviewed?

Ace Beautē Grandiose Palette

I have been so MIA lately. I have had no motivation. The Holidays are draining and I don’t particularly enjoy them.

But. I do have a review for you! Of a palette that arrived in last months Boxy Charm.

The Ace Beautē Grandiose Palette $24.99

I was really excited when I received this palette. It is a brand I have wanted to try and I mean, look at it….

It’s beautiful! So warm and pretty! A nice mix of mattes and metallics. All in shades I want all over my skin.

Row One

  • Jasmine- metallic light gold (white gold?)
  • Clove- the perfect matte peach
  • Myrtle- metallic copper
  • Cinnamon- warm matte brown

Row Two

  • Patchouli- a matte yellow-cream
  • Rose- a metallic pinky red
  • Poppy-a matte purple-pink. I know there is a name for this kind of shade, but it has currently escaped me.
  • Prime-rose – metallic gold

There are 4 mattes and 4 metallic/shimmer shades. All are very pigmented and buttery.

The Look

  • I set my primer with Patchouli. I also used this shade to buff rough edges out.
  • I then used Clove as my transition. And pretty far under my lower lash line. I just put it everywhere.
  • I defined my crease with Cinnamon.
  • I used Poppy to define my outer V and places it close to my lower las line.
  • I then places Rose all over my lid.
  • I placed Primerose on the center for a bit more pop.
  • For my inner corner and brow bone highlight I used Jasmine.

Over all thoughts

I really love the formula, but the packaging isn’t the best, one of my pans just fell out.

But that is an easy fix.

If I could buy this in a store I probably wouldn’t mind the price tag. But to be honest, I don’t trust online shopping and knowing one of my pans fell out of a lightly used palette- it makes me worry.

I would love to try more from the brand, but I can get the same look with ColourPop shades- and their small palettes are like $12 and just as nice.

Have you tried Ace Beatuē? What pallets should I get from them if I try another?

A Super Late November 2018 BoxyCharm Unboxing

The Holidays already have me all kinds of flustered, so I am pretty far behind on posts right now. But, I did want to get this up. I love seeing what people get in their subscriptions, so I try to always post mine.

BoxyCharm is $21 a month and contains 4-5 full-deluxe sample sized beauty items.

Cover FX Glitter Drops “Nova” $44

I am going to be straight forward and make this one quick. The product is pretty, but the idea of glitter drops is not for me.

The shade is pretty, and I would love it with out the glitter. However, I have a friend who would LOVE these. So at least I can re-gift it 😂

Ace Beaute Grandoise Palette $24.99

Ever since Ace Beaute came out with those paradise (or whatever) palettes came out, I have wanted to try their shadows. I am super excited about this. I love warm tones.

They swatch really nice, pigmented and buttery. I am anxious to try this palette on the eyes.

Luxie Luminous Eye Set $21

Luxie brushes are my favorite. I am always super happy to receive them. This set is really pretty I love the gold. And the glitter on the handles.

Farah Galaxy Gold Tweezers $12

Who doesn’t need an awesome pair of tweezers? This set has a slanted side and a pointed side. These are gonna be very useful.

Bodyography Makeup Brush Cleaner $12

I am almost out of my current brush cleaner, this came at the perfect time. For $12 you don’t get very much though..

that is is for my box! Besides the glitter drops I happy about everything!

What did you get in your BoxyCharm?
