*NEW* Burts Bee’s Lipsticks: Review and swatches (only 12 of the shades)

bbl1

I love the Burt’s Bee’s skin care, shampoo/conditioner, and lip care. When I saw that they had introduced an actual, somewhat, pigmented lip stick into their line, I was really pleased. The Packaging:

I love how light weight the packaging is. I also enjoy the honeycomb design that shows what color family each lipstick is in.

The Scent:

No, they do not have the typical Burt’s Bee’s menthol lip product scent. The lipsticks have a more floral scent to them. It actual reminds me of the smell of the Pomegranate chap stick. The scent also does not linger, so it really isn’t that big of a deal.

The Wear:

These lipsticks really impressed me. They have a surprisingly long wear time, and once they start to fade they leave some what of a stain on your lips. They are all extremely moisturizing, but none are matte. If you are a real stickler for no shine on the lips, you may want to pass on these.

Swatches:

As you can tell from the swatches above, the lipsticks, especially the lighter ones, are a bit sheer. I was not necessarily expecting very pigmented lipstick, when I saw that they are meant to be moisturizing. The only shades I am disappointed with in department of pigmentation is the top left one and the red shade that is 2 after that one. They were really just a bit patchier than the others.

My Favorite Shade:

Russet River, the top most right.

Above is a picture of me wearing Russet River on my lips. This actually brings me to comment on the shade names. I really enjoyed that they all have something to do with a type of body of water in their names. It is uniform and that makes me smile (:.

If you see these lipsticks (or want to order them) they are $9.00. Do I think they are worth that price? Not necessarily, but drug store products are always on sale!

I hope you loved this post as much as I loved writing it,

XOXO Manda
